Last July, British luxury brand Aston Martin and energy drink company Red Bull raced their latest ground-breaking hypercar, which they dubbed the AM-RB 001. The two companies teamed up to show off their skills and create one of the most extraordinary hypercars ever created to perform in a Formula 1 race.
The brains behind the beast are Red Bull Racing Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey, Aston Martin EVP Marek Reichman, and Aston Martin VP David King. They had a couple goals in mind: to make this vehicle an enjoyable road car, but also a wicked track-ready monster. Racing enthusiasts will have the option to purchase an AM-RB 001 racetrack only model, similar in performance to the LMP1 Le Mans sport prototype.
The AM-RB 001 is built around a lightweight carbon fiber structure, allowing for incredible aerodynamics and unmistakable style. As a fully bespoke model, the AM-RB 001 was built by King and his team in Gaydon, England where the Aston Martin One-77, a million dollar supercar, was also built. Although most of its specifications are yet to be released, the AM-RB 001 is also rumored to be equipped with a V12 engine and achieve a 1:1 power ratio.
Aston Martin will produce between 99 and 150 road cars and only 25 track models, but you’ll have to wait until 2018 to have it delivered to your home.
