GB Racing S-1 Wins 2014 OPA Superstock National Championship

October 4, 2014: With three 1st place finishes at OPA sanctioned races in Bilox-Mississippi, Lake of

the Ozarks-Missouri and the St. Clair River Classic in Michigan, veteran superstock throttleman Gary

Ballough and first year rookie driver Taylor Chastelet accummulated enough winning points to take

home the 2014 OPA Superstock Class National Championship title in the 32 foot GB Racing S-1

Superstock Outboard.

National Class Champions are determined annually by the Offshore Powerboat Association (OPA) based

on points, awarded for all sanctioned races throughout the season to competing offshore race teams in

each class, depending on where the team finishes in each event.

The GB Racing S-1 Superstock twin Mercury outboard powered catamaran raced a limited shedule in

2014, as the current boat was sold to an offshore racing team in Abu Dhabi before the end of the 2014

season and a new replacement superstock is still under construction. The new GB Racing Superstock

entry will be ready for the 2015 season.

Visit the OPA website for a complete list of all 2014 OPA National Champions by class.
