Is Bentley Building a 650-Horsepower Bentayga Speed?

In the automotive industry, rumors are always flying around about the latest and greatest developments coming from the world’s finest automakers. The internet has only helped to spread these rumors, but as it turns out, these rumors are sometimes not rumors at all and turn out to be real projects at work behind the scenes.

Recently, you may have seen some talk about something called the Bentayga Speed, with engine figures attached to the model boasting 650 horsepower. Is it true that Bentley is building this 650-horsepower Bentayga Speed?

What We Know About the Supposed Bentayga Speed in 2019

analog clock in the bentley bentaygaThere is a report from Autocar that suggests Bentley will, in fact, build this Speed model and make it the top level trim for the Bentayga. According to this report, the Bentayga Speed would have a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter engine that is capable of pumping out up to 650 horsepower. Simply put, the Bentayga Speed will up the ante when it comes to performance, very much in line with a model like the Lamborghini Urus.

Since the Speed would be the flagship Bentayga model, however, it would also almost certainly come with some of the finest luxury amenities available. Details for these sorts of amenities will have to wait.

But, based on reports, it certainly sounds as though a Bentayga Speed may indeed be in the works over at Bentley headquarters. With no official word, however, all we can do is trust the report available and go off of speculation. Once any official news comes out from Bentley, we’ll be sure to update you here on the St. Louis Motorcars blog.
